Mark B. Fleming was honored as the “Best Portfolio” graduate at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 1989. In 1991, Mark joined Nashville’s J. C. Bradford & Co., the second largest company in Tennessee, as a Creative Director, responsible for the design of the company’s advertising and marketing material.
He was promoted to Manager of Marketing Services, overseeing the creative department, relationships with advertising agencies, printing and vendors to support 86 offices, 1,300 brokers and 300,000 clients.
After a successful nine-year run at J. C. Bradford & Co., Mark B. Fleming left to start Creative Avenue. Creative Avenue was founded February 12th, 1999 and has grown its customer base from a few clients in 1999 to over 300 today. Creative Avenue offers a wide variety of graphic design and website design services.
Today, Mark B. Fleming meets todays challenges by working both at Nossi College of Art. At Nossi College of Art, Mark serves as the Illustration Coordinator and is an instructor of many classes. Mark is helping influence the next generation of commercial artists, designers and illustrators. He teaches a variety of classes from alternative mediums, which includes watercolor, gouache, acrylic and oil painting. Other classes that he writes the syllabus for and teaches are the figure and anatomy classes which are intense anatomical studies in a variety of mediums. Mark exercises both traditional and digital mediums as well. In Adobe®Photoshop basic and advanced techniques like conceptual matte painting are taught. A variety of other classes taught are Page Layout with Adobe InDesign® and Adobe Illustrator® Color Theory, Adobe Creative Suite for Illustrators, Advertising Illustration, Small Business Management and more.
Mark went back to school to finish a collegiate goal from 2012 to 2014 at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh to complete his bachelor degree.
